Trucks at the rate of 10 to 12,000 per day, as many as 500 per hour and up to 8 per minute arriving and departing from intermodal facility at Elwood, IL on September 11th, 2007. They stretch as far as the eye can see on the entrance road. Traffic rate confirmed with Aimee Ingalls (Elwood Village Administrator) on September 11th, 2007. THIRTY trucks per minute were counted by three candidates for LaPorte County office in October 2008. WOW! That's over FORTY THREE THOUSAND trucks per day if the rate is constant. Say it isn't so! Click here or on the trucks to see great video taken in September 2007. Now think about US 6 between Union Mills and Westville. Which school bus route will your child use? |
