Actually there is no such thing as an Asiatic Emerald Corn Borer - but there is an Emerald Ash Borer that did come from Asia and it was discovered near Detroit in 2002. It is devastating the native Ash population and has recently been found in Chicago as well as northern Indiana.

What would have happened had this creature done to corn what it is doing to the Ash tree? Or soybeans? Or tomatos?
